The former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/bauhaus\/\" id=\"auto-tag_bauhaus\" data-tag=\"bauhaus\">Bauhaus<\/a> frontman was rushed to Lenox Hill Hospital on August 13th with shortness of breath and admitted, causing the singer to cancel a run of New York concerts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing my recent episode in New York City with my heart attack and being admitted into Lenox Hill Hospital and seeing myself go through the rigors of intensive care, I am very happy to say that I have made a full recovery,\u201d Murphy wrote in a statement via his Instagram. \u201cThanks to the superb team of doctors, specialists, nurses and care staff. I am so glad to say I am up and running again.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/B1iLy5bn0zu\/\" data-instgrm-version=\"12\" readability=\"-1.2307692307692\"><\/blockquote>\n<p>He added, \u201cMy tour manager Brian Lowe and my assistant Chantal Thomas were directly instrumental in saving my life and to whom I cannot thank enough. I also want to thank every single friend and fan who has been supporting me throughout this ordeal. I remain grateful especially to my Bauhaus bandmates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Murphy also asked fans to donate to The American Heart Association in lieu of flowers or gifts. Donations can be made <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.heart.org\/site\/SPageServer?pagename=donatenow_heart&amp;s_src=pmxsem19&amp;gclid=CjwKCAjwnf7qBRAtEiwAseBO_CIvWR57y3IyyT83uodiLRkYGMaZ-Z608JWaoocmaFpOr6xsgCZZHRoCdZ4QAvD_BwE\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Jason Song, a cardiologist, previously confirmed that Murphy was treated for a heart attack following his arrival at Lenox Hill. \u201cMr. Murphy was admitted for treatment of a myocardial infarction,\u201d the doctor said. \u201cHe had two stents placed in his right coronary artery and was started on medications to manage his heart condition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the heart attack, Murphy was scheduled to perform four more concerts at New York\u2019s Le Poisson Rouge, where he\u2019d been doing full-album performances.
