Bj\u00f6rk is re-releasing 2015 album Vulnicura<\/em><\/a> in a virtual reality edition, Pitchfork<\/em><\/a> reports. The seven-song set will comprise the VR visuals that are featured in the Bj\u00f6rk Digital Exhibition<\/a>, which has been traveling the world since 2016. The exhibit is currently touring cities in Brazil. The new Vulinicura<\/em> set arrives on Friday via an \u201caccessible gaming platform available to everyone,\u201d which will be downloadable, she wrote<\/a> on Instagram.<\/p>\n

\u201cVulnicura<\/em> VR has been a long journey which started when me and Andy Thomas Huang started talking about how we wanted to document \u2018Stonemilker,’\u201d she explained. \u201cWe then filmed it on a 360 camera on a beach in Iceland in November 2014.\u201d The vision expanded to include several other Vulnicura<\/em> songs as the exhibition made its way to cities worldwide.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe whole process has been an improvisation, trying to keep faith in formats. It is too easy for musicians to turn pessimistic after CDs have evaporated, but I wanted to try to have courage to grow along with how 360 sound and vision tech was growing,\u201d she continued. \u201cWith every challenge try to turn it into an additional gift for the ideology in the music.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Vulnicura<\/em> VR collection will include visuals for \u201cStonemilker,\u201d \u201cLionsong,\u201d \u201cNotget,\u201d \u201cMouth Mantra,\u201d \u201cQuicksand,\u201d \u201cBlack Lake\u201d and \u201cFamily\u201d along with 3D notation animations by Stephen Malinowski.<\/p>\n

In May, the Icelandic artist staged the Cornucopia multimedia concert<\/a> series in New York. Bj\u00f6rk\u2019s most recent studio album, Utopia<\/em><\/a>, was released in 2017, which features singles \u201cLosss<\/a>\u201d and \u201cTabula Rasa<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n
