The Raconteurs<\/a> took the stage at The Tonight Show<\/a><\/em> to offer a rousing version of their song \u201cShine the Light on Me.\u201d The digital-only performance, which did not air on TV, featured the band giving the bluesy, piano-based track their all.<\/p>\n

The song, which comes off the band\u2019s recent album Help Us Stranger<\/em><\/a>, put Jack White at the center on a grand piano, leading the vocals as the rest of the musicians chimed in. It came to a propulsive finish as the instrumentals and accompanying vocals surged alongside White\u2019s croon.<\/p>\n

Help Us Stranger,<\/em> the band\u2019s third album, dropped in June. White told Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> that the new songs weren\u2019t planned. \u201cNo one said, \u2018Hey, we\u2019re making a new album, we\u2019re going on tour,’\u201d he said. \u201cWe just thought, \u2018Let\u2019s just get together and we\u2019ll work out a song, maybe a couple, and see what happens.\u2019 And everyone was just so energetic, it was really inspiring. I mean, we had like 30 songs we were working on intensely and we ended up having to say, \u2018Look, we got to settle on a dozen songs here. Because we\u2019ll just keep writing, it\u2019s going so well.’\u201d<\/p>\n

The Raconteurs are currently touring<\/a> in support of the album. The North American trek, which kicked off in July, will wrap October 18th in St. Louis, Missouri.<\/p>\n
