The clip was released on Thursday to honor what would have been the late singer\u2019s 73rd birthday.<\/p>\n<p>The two cells serenade each other under a disco ball, only to have heartbreak ensue when one of them gets diagnosed with AIDS. The clip was directed by Esteban Bravo and Beth David, the duo behind the Oscar-winning short film <em>In a Heartbeat.<\/em> It pays tribute to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercuryphoenixtrust.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">The Mercury Phoenix Trust<\/a>, a charity founded after Mercury\u2019s death by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/queen\/\" id=\"auto-tag_queen\" data-tag=\"queen\">Queen<\/a> members Brian May, Roger Taylor and manager Jim Beach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wanted to tell a story that was relevant to Freddie\u2019s life, but not explicitly about him,\u201d the directors said in a statement. \u201cThe AIDS crisis of the 1980s is a huge part of LGBT history, and it\u2019s something that we knew needed to be handled with care.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a love story between two white blood cells, one of which has become infected by the virus,\u201d the directors added. \u201cThis perspective gave us a more direct visual representation of our conflict, which allowed us to explore the more nuanced struggles the characters face in their relationship with each other, their perceptions of themselves, and society\u2019s perception, bias, and neglect of them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLove Me Like There\u2019s No Tomorrow\u201d will be included on <em>Never Boring<\/em>, a new box set comprised of Mercury\u2019s solo career. \u201cI had a lot of ideas bursting to get out,\u201d Mercury once said of his solo career, \u201cAnd there were a lot of musical territories I wanted to explore which I really couldn\u2019t do within Queen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Never Boring<\/em> box set includes a compilation of the same name, as well as the solo LPs <em>Mr. Bad Guy<\/em> and <em>Barcelona<\/em>.
