The clip, directed and shot by Ashley Connor, stars Lauri Guzda and Mami Kimura as two demure women having a polite, well-mannered afternoon tea\u2026until they abruptly decide to rip their clothes off, splatter mud across each other\u2019s bodies and just generally let loose.<\/p>\n<p>Such is the power of a Sleater-Kinney song, especially one that deals with finding catharsis and hope in our current era; in a statement, Carrie Brownstein said the track \u201cspeaks to an existence that has been fractured and frayed by age or by loss, by divisive politics, by trauma or depression.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re always aware of the sense, as women who are not in our 30s anymore, that there\u2019s this idea that sonically you\u2019re supposed to contract after a while, and make things that are more appeasing or quieter,\u201d singer\/guitarist Brownstein added recently. \u201cI think we\u2019ve always fought against that. It\u2019s also just not in our nature.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The band previously released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/see-sleater-kinney-celebrate-their-fans-in-love-music-video-872563\/\">another video<\/a> for \u201cLove,\u201d also from&nbsp;<em>The Center Won\u2019t Hold<\/em>,&nbsp;in celebration of their fans. The album is produced by St. Vincent and is their follow-up to 2015\u2019s <em>No Cities to Love<\/em>. Earlier this year, longtime Sleater-Kinney drummer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/janet-weiss-drum-goddess-sleater-kinney-855098\/\">Janet Weiss<\/a>, who contributed to&nbsp;<em>The Center Won\u2019t Hold<\/em>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/sleater-kinney-drummer-janet-weiss-leaves-band-853944\/\">announced her departure<\/a> from the band.<\/p>\n<p>Sleater-Kinney\u2019s two remaining members, Corin Tucker and Brownstein, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/sleater-kinney-hurry-on-home-lyric-video-new-song-tour-841461\/\">kick off their tour<\/a> for <em>The Center Won\u2019t Hold<\/em> on October 9th in Spokane, WA, making stops across the U.S. during the fall before looping back over to Seattle\u2019s Paramount Theatre for the tour\u2019s final show on November 23rd.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/sleater-kinney-can-i-go-on-video-880563\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via:: Rolling Stone<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sleater-Kinney have unveiled their new video for \u201cCan I Go On,\u201d from their most recent album The Center Won\u2019t Hold.
