The fast-talking track, produced by Sir Spyro, follows <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/watch-idris-elba-cameo-stormzy-video-vossi-bop-827636\/\">\u201cVossi Bop\u201d<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/watch-stormzy-emotional-music-video-crown-850924\/\">\u201cCrown.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The single art pays homage to <em>The Sound of Music<\/em>, but \u201cSounds of the Skeng\u201d doesn\u2019t have any of that musical whimsy. The hard-punching number follows up on Stormzy\u2019s 2017 track \u201cMr. Skeng,\u201d off his debut album <em>Gang Signs &amp; Prayer<\/em>, drawing on some of the same references in the lyrics. On the track, the rapper spits, \u201cFive whole years on the circuit\/ Every single year I merk it\/ Every single year\/ I switch flows, they jerk it\/ I flip more, then reverse it\/ Told bro reimburse it, I just hope that it\u2019s worth it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stormzy has been working on his follow-up to <em>Gang Signs &amp; Prayers<\/em>, but a release date has not yet been announced. In June, he became the first rapper to headline Glastonbury.&nbsp; This month, Stormzy will be part of the judging panel for this year\u2019s Mercury Music Prize alongside Jamie Cullum, Jorja Smith, Annie Mac and Gaz Coombes.<\/p>\n<p>The rapper also recently appeared on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/ed-sheeran\/\" id=\"auto-tag_ed-sheeran\" data-tag=\"ed-sheeran\">Ed Sheeran<\/a>\u2019s \u201cTake Me Back to London,\u201d from the singer\u2019s album <em>No.6 Collaborations Project<\/em>.
