The emotional track comes off the musician\u2019s recent third album <em>III<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>As the string section soars, Banks passionately croons, \u201cAnd I wish I could change it\/ And we\u2019re always gonna be contaminated\/ And oh, I know what we need\/ You start letting me go\/ Our love is tainted.\u201d The singer allows the song\u2019s emotion to do the talking as she remains nearly motionless behind a microphone during the performance.<\/p>\n<p>Banks previously said of the song, which was produced by BJ Burton, \u201c\u2018Contaminated\u2019 is about being addicted to a toxic relationship. The more you give, the less of yourself you become.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>III<\/em> dropped in July, Banks\u2019 first album since 2016\u2019s&nbsp;<em>The Altar.<\/em> She is currently on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/banks-north-american-tour-dates-new-album-iii-843698\/\">a lengthy North American tour<\/a> that opens September 3rd in Toronto and concludes October 19th in Miami. She <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/jillian-banks-songs-album-868260\/\">recently told <em>Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> that it was her interest in poetry that led her to crafting such engaging lyrics. \u201cWhen I write a sentence that has a certain flow to it, it almost sounds like a riddle,\u201d she said. \u201cLike in [my song] \u2018The Fall\u2019: \u2018Still tripping to slip in your own dirty fingers to dip in the chicken now.\u2019 I like how it kind of sounds like a tongue twister. I like that type of stuff, and I always have, even when I was younger.
