As Kim Gordon<\/a> explains in the new \u201cvideo\u201d for her song \u201cAir BnB,\u201d the video was supposed to be shot in an actual Air BnB. \u201cThink faux mid-century modern on top of the Hollywood Hills with a great view of the city and lots of grass,\u201d she explains via title card, with the song playing over it.<\/p>\n

But Gordon didn\u2019t have the budget, so through title cards, she lays out the whole video treatment and lets the viewer imagine what the clip could\u2019ve been like. (Think Young Thug\u2019s DIY \u201cWyclef Jean\u201d video<\/a>, but a little more arthouse.) Gordon was supposed to be wearing \u201ca red lace Rodarte top and a red leather cape\u201d in a house entirely painted in black-and-white, with black-and-white cityscapes hanging on the walls. The musician would\u2019ve been crawling across the floor, dragging her guitar around and rubbing it on furniture and household objects, until she slowly made her way outside and crawled into a tent next to the pool.<\/p>\n

\u201cAir BnB\u201d is Gordon\u2019s second single from No Home Record<\/em>, which arrives October 11th. She previously released the video for \u201cSketch Artist.\u201d<\/a> The album is the former Sonic Youth member\u2019s first solo record, produced by Justin Raisen, Shawn Everett and Jake Meginsky.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Why a solo record? And why now?\u2019 I don\u2019t know, but it wouldn\u2019t have happened without the persistence of Justin Raisen,\u201d Gordon said in a statement. \u201cLiving in L.A. the last few years, it feels like home, but the transience of the place makes it feel sometimes like no home.\u201d<\/p>\n
