On <em>Kimmel<\/em>, Armstrong sauntered around the stage, singing the track with a languid cool that stood in sharp contrast to the urgency of the lyrics and the roar of the rest of the band.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Green Day are set to release <em>Father of All\u2026<\/em> on February 7th. The album marks the band\u2019s first since 2016\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/review-green-day-older-wiser-mad-as-hell-in-revolution-radio-191559\/\"><em>Revolution Radio<\/em><\/a>, and in a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/green-day-new-album-stadium-tour-weezer-fall-out-boy-882095\/\">interview with <em>Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a>, Armstrong spoke about how he wanted the new album to incorporate new influences, like soul and R&amp;B, and it was \u201cFather of All\u2026\u201d that helped him figure out the sound.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cI told my engineer, \u2018I might look like a fucking idiot, but bear with me,&#8217;\u201d Armstrong said, adding the song \u201cwas like a unicorn falling out of the sky: \u2018I don\u2019t know what this is, I don\u2019t know how I did it, but this is the direction I\u2019m headed.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Following the release of <em>Father of All\u2026,<\/em> Green Day will embark on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/green-day-weezer-fall-out-boy-2020-hella-mega-tour-882156\/\">massive 2020 summer tour<\/a> with Weezer and Fall Out Boy.
