His 14-song acoustic set featured classics like \u201cOld Man\u201d and \u201cHeart of Gold\u201d along with new compositions like \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/neil-young-crazy-horses-new-song-rainbow-of-colors-883991\/\">Rainbow of Colors<\/a>\u201d and \u201cEternity,\u201d but the most notable moment came near at the end when he played the <em>Tonight\u2019s The Night<\/em> tune \u201cNew Mama\u201d for the first time since 1977:<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1eM8EgAL2-c?version=3&amp;enablejsapi=1&amp;origin=https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com&amp;rel=1&amp;fs=1&amp;autohide=2&amp;showsearch=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;iv_load_policy=1&amp;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll these places start off with kids,\u201d he said before playing the song. \u201cKids make it happen and families slowly realize how real it is and they realize they have nowhere to go. Then they find a place like this and a place like the Bridge School. That\u2019s why it\u2019s so important because it\u2019s all about those little kids and their eyes looking at you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Young wrote \u201cNew Mama\u201d shortly after the birth of his son Zeke in September 1972. He played it throughout 1973 on his <em>Time Fades Away<\/em> and <em>Tonight\u2019s The Night<\/em> tours, but it only surfaced again when he guested with Stephen Stills at a lone gig in 1975 and then on August 12th, 1977 when he joined David Crosby and Graham Nash at the United Farms Workers Benefit at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium in Santa Cruz, California.<\/p>\n<p>Neil Young and Crazy Horse are releasing the new album <em>Colorado<\/em> on October 25th, but they won\u2019t hit the road until at least next year.
