Megadeth<\/a> frontman Dave Mustaine<\/a> says he\u2019s recovering well after revealing his cancer diagnosis<\/a> in June. \u201cI\u2019m almost through the last round of treatment and my doctors are feeling very positive regarding my progress,\u201d he wrote in a message on the band\u2019s website<\/a>. \u201cI want to thank all of you for the support and well wishes these last few months. I can\u2019t express enough gratitude as it has made this hard road easier knowing you are in my corner fighting with me!\u201d<\/p>\n

Mustaine reported that his physicians will evaluate his condition over the next few weeks and added that he\u2019s looking forward to the band\u2019s inaugural \u201cMegacruise,\u201d<\/a> which will depart from Los Angeles on October 13th on a round-trip voyage to San Diego and Ensenada, Mexico. \u201cLess than 30 days till we are Thrashing through the Pacific!\u201d the singer and guitarist wrote.<\/p>\n

Megadeth canceled most of its live dates earlier this year following Mustaine\u2019s diagnosis, though they kept the Megacruise on their calendar. \u201cThe band will be a part of it in some form,\u201d Mustaine vowed at the time he learned he had throat cancer. Along with the cruise, Megadeth has run of European dates booked for January and February.<\/p>\n

Mustaine announced his diagnosis via Instagram on June 17th. \u201cI\u2019ve been diagnosed with throat cancer,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s clearly something to be respected and faced head on \u2014 but I\u2019ve faced obstacles before. I\u2019m working closely with my doctors, and we\u2019ve mapped out a treatment plan which they feel has a 90 percent success rate. Treatment has already begun.\u201d In the meantime, Megadeth continued work on their follow-up to 2016\u2019s Dystopia<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n
