{"id":2449303,"date":"2019-09-30T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-09-30T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aspentimes.com\/?p=313640"},"modified":"2019-09-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2019-09-30T06:00:00","slug":"monday-business-briefs-aspen-architectural-firms-win-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kspn\/local-news\/monday-business-briefs-aspen-architectural-firms-win-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Monday Business Briefs: Aspen architectural firms win awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"STND-STND BriefText HeadLarge\">Aspen firms get props for their work<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BriefText\">Aspen architectural firms have been racking up awards in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BriefText ListBullet\">\u2022 MATTER Planning + Design recently was awarded first place in the Colorado CARE Awards for its design of an 8,000-square-foot home in the Owl Creek neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BriefText\">The firm took first place in the category \u201cBest Interior Remodel\/Design over 100K,\u201d according to an announcement<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BriefText\">The Colorado CARE Awards, according to press material, are \u201cColorado\u2019s largest and longest-running award competition honoring the best architects, custom builders, interior designers, landscape designers, remodelers and industry partners in the Colorado real estate market.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BriefText ListBullet\">\u2022 Aspen firm Charles Cunniffe Architects recently was awarded the American Institute of Architects \u201cAward of Excellence\u201d for the renovation of the St. Mary Catholic Church.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BriefText\">In his speech at the annual event in Denver, Cunniffe thanked the parish, the entire architectural, design and construction team, and the many artisans and craftsman it took to complete the project. Charles Cunniffe Architects also was awarded an Award of Distinction for its affordable housing project, Virginia Placer, in Telluride.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BriefText ListBullet\">\u2022 Rowland+Broughton Architecture\/Urban Design\/Interior Design received awards for its local projects from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Colorado and the Custom Builder and Remodeler Council (CBRC) of the Denver Metro Home Builders Association.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BriefText\">The Aspen Times building and suites at the Hotel Jerome received an AIA Colorado 2019 Award of Distinction West award and an AIA Colorado 2019 honorable mention.
