Yonder Mountain String Band will headline the Wheeler Opera House on New Year’s Eve.<\/strong>

Colorado\u2019s own Yonder Mountain String Band will play a New Year\u2019s Eve show at the Wheeler Opera House, the historic theater announced Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Tickets, on-sale now, are $130 for general admission and $175 for reserved seats.<\/p>\n

The Yonder Mountain announcement came in conjunction with 10 additional events for December.<\/p>\n

Newly announced shows include \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d castmembers Alex Moffat and Mikey Day (Dec. 27) and the returns of magician Adam Trent (Dec. 28), Acrobats of Cirque-Tacular (Dec. 26), ABBA Mania (Dec. 25).<\/p>\n

Holiday-themed events include the kid-friendly interactive theatrical production \u201cTwas the Night Before Christmas\u201d (Dec. 22), Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy\u2019s \u201cA Celtic Family Christmas\u201d (Dec. 19), \u201cA Very Electric Christmas\u201d (Dec. 8) and a free screening of \u201cThe Polar Express\u201d (Dec. 20).<\/p>\n

The band Lucky Chops will close the Wheeler\u2019s \u201cOn the Rise\u201d series on Dec. 7 and the Wheeler will present the film \u201cHeavy Water\u201d on Dec. 15.<\/p>\n

\u201cDecember is a magical month here in Aspen, and we love bringing our most diverse program line-up to the community and vistors over these 31 days.,\u201d Wheeler executive director Gena Buhler said in the announcement. \u201cThis year\u2019s series features incredible live music, magic, film, comedy, family friendly theatre, and more, there\u2019s truly something for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

The theater is expected to announce dates for the Aspen Choral Society\u2019s annual \u201cMessiah\u201d concert, a Warren Miller ski movie and more in coming days.<\/p>\n
