Several events from late summer into fall revolved around art, acrobatics and potlucks.<\/p>\n

Anderson Ranch\u2019s lively Lunchtime Auctionettes, held on Fridays throughout the summer, ended in late August with a special finale as a dinnertime version on Sept. 19. This series of fun, high-energy affairs \u2013 open to one and all at no charge \u2013 offers an opportunity to buy original artwork by Anderson Ranch faculty, visiting artists, students, interns and staff\u2015all while supporting the Ranch.<\/p>\n

Also in late August, Snowmass Village brought a new circus to town. Circus Bella is the San Francisco Bay Area\u2019s premier one-ring circus, celebrating thrilling and entertaining feats, all to the beat of a live band.<\/p>\n

Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) is celebrating its 50th anniversary all year with events and activities including The Aspen Chapel Gallery\u2019s Art for ACES. An opening reception on Aug. 28 was followed by an artist talk on Sept. 18. The exhibition runs through Oct. 13. The Aspen Chapel is open daily from 10 a.m. \u2013 5 p.m. Season sponsors are Susan and Larry Marx, with the current exhibition made possible in part by a grant from the Thrift Shop of Aspen and Wheeler Opera House (City of Aspen) arts grant program.<\/p>\n

On Sept. 19, ACES presented its annual Fall Colors Membership Potluck dinner at the Catto Center at Toklat. Members arrived with homemade dishes, complemented by drinks from ACES, peak fall colors and live music by Smokin\u2019 Joe Kelly.<\/p>\n
