PJ Harvey<\/a> has shared her piano demo version of \u201cThe Sandman,\u201d one of the two new songs<\/a> with vocals that she penned for the London stage adaptation of All About Eve<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In the play, actresses Gillian Anderson and Lily James sing Harvey\u2019s \u201cThe Sandman\u201d and \u201cThe Moth,\u201d respectively. However, the vinyl soundtrack for All About Eve,<\/em> released Friday, boasts the Harvey-sung demos for both tracks, as well as 10 instrumentals from Harvey\u2019s All About Eve<\/em> score<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A digital-only three-song EP includes Harvey\u2019s two demos as well as a remix of \u201cThe Sandman\u201d by the show\u2019s sound designer Tom Gibbons.<\/p>\n

Harvey previously unveiled her All About Eve<\/em> score in April when the Ivo van Hove-directed adaptation staged its limited engagement at the Noel Coward Theatre<\/p>\n

\u201cI have always loved stories, and so to compose music to support and enhance a story being told is a challenge I enjoy. I also love the freedom that working instrumentally can give me without the constraints of song form,\u201d Harvey said at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor All About Eve<\/em> I chose to work with my long-time collaborator James Johnston as he has a soulfulness and sensitivity to his playing that inspires me. I also worked with Kenrick Rowe who has a versatility to his drumming I knew I could experiment with until I found what was right.\u201d<\/p>\n
