On Nov. 8, 1984, an article in The Aspen Times about Snowmass council elections reported, \u201cAll four challengers received more votes than incumbents Hayes Jones and Gary Rosenau,\u201d with Pete Bedford receiving the third most votes and final seat on council.<\/p>\n

\u201cBedford, who was forced to step down from the council for health reasons after his last election, said he was anxious to return to the council,\u201d the article continued. \u201cBedford\u2019s health has been a concern, but he assured voters last week that he was recovered. After the elections, Bedford, 67, said his health was back and he was back on the tennis courts.\u201d<\/p>\n

The article went on to say, \u201cThe message was clear. The voters in Snowmass want to see a more cautious approach to growth and they think that requires redirection by the Town Council.\u201d<\/p>\n
