Their report indicates the facility will prioritize Reno\u2019s restoration to competency, Seldin said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Reno was arrested March 14 after twice driving downvalley in the upvalley lanes of Highway 82 at speeds as fast as 80 mph and narrowly missing other drivers, including a sheriff\u2019s deputy, and a pedestrian crossing near Buttermilk. He later entered the District Courtroom with his eyes closed and had to be led to a chair before making strange and nonsensical statements in court.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Reno pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity in May, triggering his examination by state psychiatrists in Pueblo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Ashley Andrews, his public defender, said Monday she had \u201cserious concerns\u201d about the Pitkin County Jail\u2019s ability to house Reno.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u201cHe seems to only be deteriorating in jail,\u201d Andrews said. \u201cHe has significant cognitive issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aspentimes.com\/news\/wrong-way-driver-declared-incompetent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via:: The Aspen Times<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Thornton man who drove wrong way down Highway 82 in March and nearly hit other drivers and pedestrians was declared incompetent to stand trial Monday.
