I would like to clarify that the title, <a id=\"N0x1eb6c00N0x20ab0f0:N0x1eb6c00N0x1ef4500\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aspentimes.com\/opinion\/letters-to-the-editor\/beaton-satire-over-liberals-sensitive-heads\/\">\u201cBeaton satire over liberals\u2019 sensitive heads,\u201d<\/a> was drafted by your editorial staff, and not by me.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Mr. Beaton has likely offended many of his conservative readers, as well. I was seeking to address the current environment, where people of all walks of life and political ideologies are choosing to immerse themselves in carefully curated news and information that is designed to merely confirm their pre-existing ideas and biases, as opposed to exposing them to new, and perhaps challenging and uncomfortable, points of view.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">This problem is not limited to \u201cliberals\u201d; it is also prevalent amongst \u201cconservatives,\u201d as well. The fact that is has taken hold in our institutions of higher learning is particularly disturbing.
