The November decision denies claims by WildEarth Guardians that the agency\u2019s plans violated state laws prohibiting lethal trapping methods.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Those laws \u2014 part of Colorado\u2019s Amendment 14, which was approved by voters in 1996 \u2014 allow trapping for \u201cbona fide scientific research.\u201d McGahey found the two research studies met the definition of \u201cbona fide scientific research\u201d because they will provide new and relevant knowledge and will be carried out by qualified personnel with results suitable for publication.<\/p>\n<p>The court also ruled that CPW\u2019s research does not violate its mission to protect the public interest in wildlife.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Click here (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/coloradosun.com\/2020\/01\/13\/colorado-parks-and-wildlife-management\/\" target=\"_blank\">Click here<\/a> to read the full story from The Colorado Sun.<\/p>\n<p><em>The&nbsp;Colorado&nbsp;Sun&nbsp;is a reader-supported news organization dedicated to covering the people, places and policies that matter in&nbsp;Colorado.
