According to a study published in May 2017 by the New England Journal of Medicine, the medicine cut seizures in kids with a severe form of epilepsy, which strengthens the case for more research into possible health benefits of cannabis.<\/strong><br \/><em>Kathy Young, Associated Press<\/em><\/figcaption><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Last session, Colorado lawmakers directed state agencies to create a plan for a new&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/leg.colorado.gov\/bills\/hb19-1004\">\u201cstate option\u201d<\/a>&nbsp;for health insurance, but much still needs to happen before you could buy in.<\/p>\n<p>A&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.colorado.gov\/pacific\/sites\/default\/files\/Final%20Report%20for%20Colorados%20Public%20Option.pdf\">report released in November<\/a>&nbsp;estimated people who buy their insurance on the individual market could save as much as 11% if the new plan moves forward, but the actual savings could vary dramatically, depending on decisions yet to be made in the statehouse.<\/p>\n<p>Private insurers would sell the plans, but they\u2019d be overseen by the Colorado Division of Insurance and the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing, which worked together to craft the proposal in the report.<\/p>\n<p>The regulators are expecting most of the savings to come from paying less to hospitals, which will come out in force against plans that cut into their revenue. And the agencies still must do much of the hardest part \u2014 crafting a formula to decide how much the hospitals will get.
