Alicia Keys<\/a> took a break from hosting the 62nd Grammy Awards to perform her new song \u201cUnderdog.\u201d The track comes off her upcoming album Alicia<\/em>, out March 20th via RCA Records.<\/p>\n

Keys performed the uplifting track while backed by Alabama Shakes\u2019 Brittany Howard<\/a> on acoustic guitar. \u201cThey said I would never make it\/But I was built to break the mold,\u201d she sang. \u201cThe only dream that I\u2019ve been chasing is my own.\u201d The performance ended with Keys playing an elevated piano above a circle of dancers.<\/p>\n

Keys, who is hosting Music\u2019s Biggest Night for the second year in a row, kicked off the evening with an emotional tribute to Kobe Bryant<\/a>, who died in a helicopter crash on Sunday. She was joined by Boyz II Men for a performance of their 1991 hit \u201cIt\u2019s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEarlier today, Los Angeles, America and the whole wide world lost a hero,\u201d Keys told the crowd. \u201cAnd we are all literally standing here in the house that Kobe Bryant built.\u201d<\/p>\n

Keys will kick off a North American tour<\/a> in support of Alicia<\/em> on July 28th at Daily\u2019s Place in Jacksonville, Florida. She\u2019ll hit several major cities, including an evening at New York\u2019s Radio City Music Hall on August 14th \u2014 before concluding at Miami\u2019s Hard Rock Live  Arena on September 22nd.<\/p>\n
