Up to 10 inches of snow is forecast above 9,000 feet.<\/strong><br \/><em><\/em><\/figcaption><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The next snowstorm to hit the Aspen area and Colorado mountains is expected to arrive Saturday evening and last into Sunday, according to a winter weather advisory updated Saturday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Warm air and precipitation coming from the southwest is forecast to drop 5 to 10 inches of snow above 9,000 feet, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/gjt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"the advisory states (opens in a new tab)\">the advisory states<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The storm \u201cwill arrive this afternoon spreading precipitation from south to north\u201d across the state, the National Weather Service outlook stated Saturday morning. The advisory runs from 3 p.m. Saturday until 3 p.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Travel is expected to be difficult at higher elevations through Sunday, especially along Interstate 70 in the mountain corridor.<\/p>\n<p>The high in Aspen for Saturday is expected to reach 35 degrees, then 26 degrees Sunday and in the teens on Monday and Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The precipitation comes to end from west to east Sunday as the low pressure moves off to the east, the NWS said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLight snow will begin across the northern Colorado mountains again on Monday lasting through Tuesday,\u201d the forecast says. \u201cHigh pressure then returns keeping the region dry through late next week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aspentimes.com\/news\/next-snowstorm-in-aspen-forecast-to-drop-5-10-inches-of-snow-through-sunday\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via:: The Aspen Times<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>National Weather Service has issued a winter storm advisory (purple) from 3 p.m. Feb. 23 until 3 p.m. Feb. 24.
