{"id":2455647,"date":"2020-03-11T11:27:19","date_gmt":"2020-03-11T17:27:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aspentimes.com\/?p=322408"},"modified":"2020-03-11T11:27:19","modified_gmt":"2020-03-11T17:27:19","slug":"3-test-presumptive-positive-for-coronavirus-in-aspen-7-tests-pending","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kspn\/local-news\/3-test-presumptive-positive-for-coronavirus-in-aspen-7-tests-pending\/","title":{"rendered":"3 test presumptive positive for coronavirus in Aspen, 7 tests pending"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.aspentimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2019\/02\/facebook-thumbnail-1200.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>Three people who were traveling in Aspen with an Australian woman who later tested positive for COVID-19 when she returned home have tested \u201cpresumptive positive\u201d for the virus, Pitkin County authorities said Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Test results for seven others who were also in the group of Australians are pending, according to a news release from a Pitkin County incident management team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese visitors are currently in quarantine,\u201d said Karen Koenemann, Pitkin County public health director. \u201c(State public health department) staff, in conjunction with Pitkin County Public Health, are monitoring people who may have been exposed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope that these folks recover quickly and there is no additional spread in Pitkin County.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The release did not say when the results for the remaining seven people in quarantine are expected. Those who have tested presumptive positive won\u2019t be considered positive until the Centers for Disease Control confirms the tests, according to the release.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities initially said 13 people who were with the 21-year-old Australian woman in Aspen exhibited symptoms associated with COVID-19 and would be tested.
