Wine Classic and Aspen Ideas Fest \u2014 two tentpoles of the early summer season \u2014 Jazz Aspen announced it would follow public health orders but that it is not canceling the <a id=\"N0x2725e20N0x27e94f0:N0x2725e20N0x2731758\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aspentimes.com\/entertainment\/jazz-aspen-announces-jas-cafe-summer-series-addresses-coronavirus-concerns\/\">JAS June Experience<\/a> (June 25 to 28) and the <a id=\"N0x2725e20N0x27e9550:N0x2725e20N0x27317e8\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aspentimes.com\/entertainment\/the-family-stone-cory-henry-kermit-ruffins-to-headline-jazz-aspen-june-experience\/\">JAS Caf\u00e9 series<\/a> (July 9 through Aug. 16).<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">The June festival is scheduled to run in multiple downtown Aspen venues, while the JAS series will be hosted at the Aspen Art Museum and The Collective in Snowmass Village.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Jazz Aspen founder Jim Horowitz outlined the organization\u2019s rationale and the factors that will guide its event decisions as summer nears:<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u201cOur ability to stage the events as scheduled rests on multiple factors: Primarily, on the timing of the State of Colorado lifting its current mandate against public gatherings of more than 10 persons, as well as the prevailing public health standards, and emerging standards for live events from our peer presenting organizations around coronavirus,\u201d Horowitz said in the announcement. \u201cThe health and safety of all JAS artists, audiences and staff is our main priority.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">He added: \u201cWe sincerely hope to be able to serve the community and help start the healing process with JAS June 2020.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">There is not a definitive timeline for making the final decision on the June festival, but \u201clikely sometime in the second half of April.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Plans also remain in place for the <a id=\"N0x2725e20N0x27e95b0:N0x2725e20N0x2731bd8\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aspentimes.com\/entertainment\/stevie-nicks-eric-church-kings-of-leon-to-headline-jazz-aspen-snowmass-labor-day-experience\/\">Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Experience<\/a>, Sept. 4 to 6, subject to all the same conditions as those affecting the earlier events.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Updates will be posted at <a id=\"N0x2725e20N0x27e9610:N0x2725e20N0x2731cf8\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jazzaspensnowmass.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/www.jazzaspensnowmass.org<\/a><i class=\"fas fa-external-link-alt\"><\/i>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aspentimes.com\/entertainment\/jazz-aspen-still-planning-to-host-june-festival-summer-jas-cafe-series\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via:: The Aspen Times<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Christian McBride performing with the JAS Academy Big Band in August 2019 at the JAS Cafe series.Steve Mundinger\/Courtesy photo Jazz Aspen Snowmass is still planning on presenting its full 30th anniversary season this summer, the nonprofit announced Wednesday.
