But if I judged people mostly by their command of the mother tongue and practiced oratory, I\u2019d be a lonely and bitter person indeed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Trump\u2019s obvious foil is Barack Obama, the left\u2019s well-schooled and carefully groomed Manchurian Candidate \u2014 much like the current pope, although Francis can be said to be articulate only as a practitioner of \u201cweaponized ambiguity\u201d about the principles of the Catholic faith. Obama was facile in rhetorical elegance and \u201cbon mot,\u201d but was otherwise perceived by many of us as an empty suit sitting in what Clint Eastwood depicted as an empty chair.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">I don\u2019t know how Mr. Hampleman defines \u201cadult,\u201d but if I have to choose between style and substance (a record of actual achievement), I\u2019ll vote with the uncouth \u201cDeplorables\u201d every time.
