{"id":2457123,"date":"2020-04-13T15:31:52","date_gmt":"2020-04-13T21:31:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aspentimes.com\/?p=324221"},"modified":"2020-04-13T15:31:52","modified_gmt":"2020-04-13T21:31:52","slug":"at-home-in-aspen-activities-and-ideas-from-the-aspen-youth-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kspn\/local-news\/at-home-in-aspen-activities-and-ideas-from-the-aspen-youth-center\/","title":{"rendered":"At home in Aspen: Activities and ideas from the Aspen Youth Center"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"27.339875538535\">\n<p>The Aspen Youth Center has kept up virtual programming over the last month as stay-home orders closed its popular physical space and activities for local kids on March 12.<\/p>\n<p>Across <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/aspenyouthcenter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Instagram Live<\/a><i class=\"fas fa-external-link-alt\"><\/i> and Zoom, the center has kept some of its free fun\/educational after-school services going online, including virtual \u201cMad Science\u201d activities, \u201cTop Chef\u201d cooking classes and \u201cArt Spot\u201d creative sessions.<\/p>\n<p>The nonprofit is staying connected with local kids via Instagram and TikTok while they\u2019re at home through a social media challenge to share what they\u2019re doing during the coronavirus shutdown:<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-instagram wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram\"><\/figure>\n<p>Aspen Youth Center is sharing its scheduled activities <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/AspenYouthCenter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HERE<\/a><i class=\"fas fa-external-link-alt\"><\/i> and updating parents and kids regularly through its e-newsletter, which includes Zoom links and passwords for the free sessions.
