The schedule of events for the rest of Aspen High School’s semester remains in limbo amid the new coronavirus pandemic.<\/strong>

While most of the country remains in limbo because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Aspen High School continues to move ahead with planning for the remainder of its academic semester.<\/p>\n

The next month typically is a busy time for seniors, who usually have big events like prom and graduation to look forward to. As of Thursday, AHS principal Tharyn Mulberry said the future of those events was still being determined.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are hoping to have an end-of-year calendar completed by May 1,\u201d Mulberry said. \u201cRight now we don\u2019t know if we\u2019ll still be closed or not, but we\u2019ll have both the alternative for all of the senior week activities and we\u2019ll have regular senior week activities if we\u2019re allowed to be open.\u201d<\/p>\n

Colorado schools are closed through at least April 30, per Gov. Jared Polis, with some districts having already closed their doors permanently for the rest of the school year. Mulberry said the Aspen School District is still holding out some hope of returning to the classroom this spring, although it looks unlikely.<\/p>\n
