The pack rides during the twelfth stage of the 2019 Tour de France cycling race over 209,5 kilometers, with a start in Toulouse and finish in Bagneres-de-Bigorre, France. This year’s Tour de France will now start on Aug. 29 in Nice and finish on Sept. 20 in Paris and will be followed by cycling’s other two major races. The Tour could not start as scheduled on June 27 because of restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/strong>

BRUSSELS \u2014 The three biggest races in cycling will take place in a 72-day span, starting with the Tour de France at the end of August and finishing with the Spanish Vuelta in November.<\/p>\n

The Spanish race and the Giro d\u2019Italia will even overlap, assuming competition resumes this year amid the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

The International Cycling Union announced its revised calendar on Tuesday, nearly two months after the virus brought bike racing to a halt.<\/p>\n

According to the latest plans, which can be amended if the health crisis continues, the Tour de France\u2019s start remains slated for Aug. 29 in the Riviera city of Nice. The season is now expected to end after the Spanish Vuelta on Nov. 8.<\/p>\n
