Put on your most stylish raincoat because it’s time for a trend forecast.
With fashion month in full swing, runways around the world are debuting the freshest work of the industry’s designers, both newcomers and veterans.
As every new season of fashion month unfolds, stars, supermodels, stylists and influencers have their eyes glued to the catwalks for clues of what is ahead in the world of clothes.
Naturally, trends always arise and this season, they’re as fun as ever. From capes to sequins, colors to snake print, getting dressed is bound to come with plenty of pizzaz.
Of course, it can feel a bit daunting to replicate the dazzling (and pretty pricey) couture you see on the runway, but there are some elements you can pull inspiration from to give your wardrobe that high-fashion boost.
Here are six trends you can translate to real life:

Shimmering Suits
Glitzy suits came strutting down the runways this season and the dazzling looks made it hard to look away. While a sequin or metallic pantsuit may feel a bit overwhelming on an average day, ease into this trend with one glimmering piece, like a sequin blazer for a Friday night out layered over a metallic tank.

Cap It Off With a Cape
Want to make a dramatic entrance? Look no further than a cape—the catwalks had plenty of them. When outerwear can get a bit boring, capes are always a fun and elegant touch. Try one for yourself in a shorter blazer version with pants or a dress that can transition from the office to out on the town.

Layer Up
This season’s shows made it easy to stay warm once temperatures dip as many models sported multi-layered looks. The key to piling on the clothes and mastering this trend? Stick to a similar color palette, but mix up the textures, silhouettes and accessories for variety and definition.

Jumpsuit for Joy
Ah, the jumpsuit—a trend that never gets old. This season, they were far from tired as the models sported bodysuits in a variety of colors, cuts and silhouettes. Therein lies the secret to rocking one yourself—find one that is fit for you!

Cinch It
Perhaps the easiest trend of all has been the belted waists taking over the runways. Whether the models were sporting coats or cocktail dresses, many sealed their ensembles with a cinch—the simplest to replicate with any oversized belt.

Monochromatic Mood
There’s been no shortage of colorful designs (and print!) on the catwalks this fashion month with models sporting bold head-to-toe patterns and hues. Fortunately, you can try this yourself by picking your own favorite color or print and rocking it top to bottom. If that feels a bit daunting, try pops of color at a time, like on a pair of pants and a matching clutch.
