There’s love at first sight and then there’s Married at First Sight!
For pop culture fans, Lifetime’s long-running reality show has proven season after season that love stories can blossom in some unconventional ways.
But with hard work, dedication and some professional help—hello Pastor Calvin Roberson and Dr. Pepper Schwartz—any couple can have a happy and healthy relationship.
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, we decided to ask our favorite couples from the franchise to write a love letter to their Valentine. Let’s just say the results are nothing short of sweet and sincere.
“For couples, think outside of the candy box. Try something that’s not necessarily conventional Valentine’s Day date night (e.g. roses, chocolates, and a fancy overpriced dinner). Go bowling, roller skating, make a bonfire, try wine-tasting or some new activity you haven’t tried together before,” Dr. Jessica Griffin shared with E! News exclusively ahead of the big holiday. “Trying new things together can increase your bond and creates special Valentine’s Day memories that won’t get lost in the same-old, same-old Valentine’s Day memories of the past.”
The psychologist added, “Find out your significant other’s favorite childhood meal (or just their favorite meal!) and prepare it for them; or plan a meal together you both would enjoy and make it at home.”
As for those who find themselves single this holiday, don’t be sad. It’s time to fall in love with yourself.
“Now is not the time to be bashful about taking care of yourself,” Dr. Jessica argued. “There is nothing wrong with dating yourself. Now is the time to spoil yourself.”
Whether you’re happily married or totally single, we have a feeling you will love the Valentine’s Day Grams from the MAFS cast in our gallery below.
