Early votes: 2019 municipal, state election

Early voting indicates that Grand County will not see an increase in sales tax to fund a new jail and that county residents decided against both state measures on the ballot.

According to the Grand County Clerk and Recorder, just about 4,600 ballots have been counted out of a total of over 12,000 registered voters. So far, 0 out of 5 precincts in the county have reported results.

For Grand County’s big sales tax question to raise the rate by .2% to partially fund a new $28 million public safety facility, the majority of early votes, 63%, are against it.

Both East Grand and Grand Lake Fire Districts’ revenue measures have early support. Around 66% of voters approved the stabilization measure for East Grand and around 58% of voters have approved the Grand Lake mill levy raise.

When it comes to state ballot questions, Grand County’s early voters are against both Prop CC and DD.
