Grand County EMS Captain Audrey Jennings will receive a statewide honor for her years of dedicated service and passion for providing emergency medical services.
Jennings is being awarded the Francis Mildred Roth Women in EMS Award at the 2019 Colorado EMS Awards this evening at Keystone Resort hosted by the Emergency Medical Services Association of Colorado.
The award goes to women who have served their communities and made a difference through innovative contributions. According to EMS of Colorado, Jennings “embodies the description given as criteria for this award.”
In her time at Grand County EMS, Jennings has helped create the high school EMT program, leads the continuous quality improvement process, coordinates the Immunization Program, acts as Infection Control Officer and oversees the administration division.
She also coordinates education and training grants and works with the physicians to develop protocols and reports to the CDPHE on all waivered procedures.
Previously, Jennings received the Dr. Gerald Gordon Instructor of the Year award in 2010 for her teaching abilities.
Prior to becoming a paramedic, Jennings was a nurse working mostly in the neonatal intensive care unit.
The Francis Mildred Roth Women in EMS Award is named after one of the first female EMS professionals in the state who helped build the first firehouse in her community.
