The new year is almost here. Have you made your New Year’s resolutions yet? If you need help coming up with ideas, here are some of the most popular resolutions, along with ways that Grand County Library District can help you achieve them.
Exercise more: Did you know that GCLD offers passes to MPH Wellness Center, Grand Lake Fitness, Mountain Moon Yoga, local rec centers, and various Nordic centers? You can visit www.gcld.org to book your pass through the Access Grand program. If you prefer to work out in the privacy of your own home, your local library has some great exercise DVDs and books to get you started or stream on Kanopy.
Learn a new language: One of GCLD’s newest offerings is Rosetta Stone, a language learning system widely recognized as the best of its kind. This fabulous resource is available free to our members. Just log into www.gcld.org and you’ll find Rosetta Stone listed under the “eBooks and Learning Tools” tab.
Travel more: Don’t head out on your trip without first researching the best places to visit, eat, and stay. Your local library has piles of great travel guides and videos to help you out. If you prefer to see the sights closer to home, GCLD offers free passes to all of Colorado’s state parks. Stop by your nearest branch to pick one up.
Get your affairs in order: GCLD offers cardholders free access to NuWav Legal Documents. NuWav Legal Documents provides documents for a wide range of situations and needs. You’ll find categories like business, contracts, landlord/tenant disputes, divorce, and more. Visit www.gcld.org and select the “eBooks and Learning Tools” tab.
Learn to play an instrument: Did you know you can check out musical instruments at your library? GCLD libraries have acoustic guitars, electric guitars, basses, and keyboards available for checkout. Contact your local library to see which instruments are available at your branch.
Become tech savvy: If you need help with your digital device, our Kremmling and Granby branches offer free technology tutoring. We’ll help you set up a Facebook account, create an email address, or download an eBook. Call your local branch to set up an appointment.
Research genealogy: Your GCLD library card gives you free access to MyHeritage, one of the largest, most internationally diverse genealogy databases of its kind. It includes billions of historical documents from over 48 countries, millions of historical photos, public records, indexes, and additional resources.
