Letter: More than 500 people attended two-day quilt show

The Peaks ‘n Pines Quilt Guild members send a big thank you to the residents and visitors of Grand County.

We held our ninth Annual Quilt Show at the Grand Lake Center on July 20-21. Over 500 people attended our show during the two days.

The Guild displayed over 80 quilts and had several demonstration exhibits. The Quilts of Valor display was a big hit, and we appreciate all the lovely comments we received.

Ann McLean was the president of our Guild when she was tragically killed in a house explosion this March. A scholarship fund was created by the Guild in memory of Ann.

At the show, quilts were purchased by the families of Billy Deligans and Taryn Hinken with the proceeds funding the scholarship in addition to many generous donations from attendees. The community support we receive is outstanding. Thank you!
