An antiques roadshow Saturday at Church of the Eternal Hills in Tabernash raised more than $4,000 in support of women’s scholarships.
The Philanthropic Education Organization, or PEO, hosted the fundraising luncheon with antiques expert Bob Scott, who discussed the history and background of antiques brought to him by Grand County residents.
The luncheon was $25 per person, and the PEO sought $20 donations for every item brought to Scott. Organizer Debbie Wehmeyer said this is the PEO’s second year putting on the roadshow, and all of the money raised will go toward scholarships for women in Grand County. Many of the scholarships run multiple years as the women pursue their educations.
Wehmeyer said 109 people attended the event, which also featured a series of neatly decorated tables, as each table’s host or hostess was competing for a special bottle of wine. Ultimately, hostess Sandra Geiser and co-hostess Judy Schowalter secured those honors.
