On Thursday, Winter Park announced it filled a new position at town hall that will focus on workforce housing initiatives, sustainability projects and grant writing.
Alisha Janes has been hired as assistant town manager and will officially start on Jan. 27.
“I am very excited to join the exceptional team at the town of Winter Park,” Janes said in a news release about her hiring. “I also look forward to hearing from and working with the community and enjoying the best of Colorado’s great outdoors.”
Janes comes to Winter Park from Brighton, where she worked as the assistant city manager since March 2018.
With 10 years of experience in the public sector, Janes has been recognized as one of the top 100 influencers in local government by Engaging Local Government Leaders.
She also serves as vice chair for Colorado Women Leading Government and is on the welcome committee for the International City/County Management Association.
Janes, who already has a master’s degree in public administration, is pursuing a Certified Public Manager Certificate at the University of Colorado-Denver.
