Applications are officially open for deed-restricted, affordable housing homes in Hideaway Junction Phase I and II in Winter Park. Applications for the single-family home in Hideaway Junction Phase I, located at 104 Trestle Drive, are due on Dec. 22 at 5 p.m.
The Phase I home is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom unit with a two-car garage. The current estimated sale price is $377,526, according to the press release from the town of Winter Park.
Full time residents of Grand County who work full time for a Grand County-based employer may be eligible to purchase one of the deed-restricted homes.
Applications for any of the eight homes in Hideaway Junction Phase II are due by Jan. 16, 2024 at 5 p.m. According to the press release, one application can be used to apply for the Phase I home or any of the eight Phase II homes.
Applications must include a written notice of financing qualification for the anticipated sale price from a lender. If applicants wish to apply for both Phase I and Phase II homes, a single mortgage pre-qualification letter for the higher sales price will be accepted for both applications. The application can be found on the town’s website.
The town will then conduct a lottery for the available Phase I home on Jan. 3, 2024 at 3 p.m and the lottery for Phase II homes will be Jan. 24, 2024 at 3 p.m. Communication will be maintained with applicants ahead of the housing lottery. Applicants do not need to be present to be selected.
This project is just one of the many affordable housing initiatives that Winter Park town council has undertaken. The preliminary plat was first approved back in 2021. When a Hideaway Junction home went up for sale in late 2020, 43 people applied to purchase the property.
