Bicycle-centric First Friday rolls into Silverthorne

Silverthorne is folding its First Friday celebration into “Cycle Silverthorne Month,” as the town has scheduled a month-long series of special events for June.

While there are some earlier events, Cycle Silverthorne Month really gets underway during the town’s signature First Friday community event, starting at 4 p.m. Friday on the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center lawn.

The evening will feature bicycle-friendly programming, a stunt show and bicycle vendors with food, drinks and live music from the Shaky Hand String Band.

There will also be bike-themed activities for children at the Frist Friday event, including a giant inflatable racetrack with pedal carts, and Sauce on The Blue will host a late-night happy hour following the gathering with live music from Beau Thomas.

The First Friday celebration is only one part of the town’s programming for Cycle Silverthorne Month, which also features events aimed at engaging the community and promoting bike safety throughout the month of June. For a full calendar, go to Silverthorne.org.
