Breckenridge changes business licensing requirements

At the Breckenridge Town Council work session meeting Tuesday, members decided to change ordinance language to restrict the use of town property for business. At the last work session meeting, council was informed that a Breckenridge lodging company was using the town’s ice rink parking lot to valet park visitor’s cars overnight.

Previously, town code required licensing for the use of town property, but with several exceptions. One exception states that licensing is not required for use of town property when the property in question is available for use by the general public. Council agreed to change this exception to require licensing for conducting business on town property, even if it is available to the public.
