The town of Breckenridge has been recognized as a silver level Bicycle Friendly Business, certified by the League of American Bicyclists.

Saying that “bikes are good for businesses,” the league bestows the designation on employers who encourage a more welcoming atmosphere for bicycling employees, customers and the community.

With the honor, Breckenridge joins at least 23 other Colorado communities, including Summit County (silver) and Silverthorne (bronze), that have won Bicycle Friendly Business designations.

According to the league, it assesses communities, businesses and universities across the U.S. every year through a voluntary application process. The designations are good for four years.
