The Breckenridge Police Department has issued a court summons to a Texas man after the department says it identified the individual accused of removing a Palestinian flag from another skier last month.
The court summons issued Dec. 14 requires the 46-year-old man from Parker, Texas, to appear in Summit County court on charges of disorderly conduct, offensive gesture, and disorderly conduct, fighting, both petty offenses.
The day the summons was issued, the Breckenridge Police Department posted on its official social media accounts that “the investigation involving the gentleman taking the Palestine flag (off) another subject while skiing on Monday has been identified and the case has been resolved pending court proceedings.” The police department had previously sought the public’s help to identify the man involved in the Dec. 11 incident.
My friend was assaulted today in Breckenridge for wearing the Palestine flag. This man came and snatched his flag off and then pushed my friend onto the ground. Please help us find out who he is so that we can take legal action.@StopZionistHate pic.twitter.com/2aZECZr0Xf

A video was shared more than 1,000 times on the social media platform X appears to show a confrontation at Breckenridge Ski Resort’s Peak 8. The user @reemoshaikh, who posted the video, claims “my friend was assaulted in Breckenridge for wearing the Palestine flag.”
“This man came and snatched his flag off and then pushed my friend onto the ground,” the post says.
The 5th Judicial District Attorney’s Office declined a records request seeking the police report from the case, saying the release of the document could “jeopardize the accused’s right to a fair trial by potentially prejudicing the potential jury pool.”
The court summons requires the man to appear March 15. Attempts to reach the man by phone Tuesday were unsuccessful. Direct messages to the user who posted the video to X have also gone unreturned.
