Residents and officials in Summit County are banding together to help raise funds for a local firefighter who’s currently facing medical retirement.
After serving the residents of Summit County for 20 years, training captain Tyson Houston with Summit Fire & EMS is facing a medical retirement, and residents are looking to raise funds to benefit him and his family through the process. On May 22, HighSide Brewing in Frisco will be hosting a fundraiser, featuring dinner, drinks and a raffle with prizes to help raise money.
The event cost $20 for admission, and raffle tickets are $10 a piece (prizes include skis, a snowboard and more). The fundraiser will begin at 5 p.m.
Additionally, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up for Houston. The campaign can be found at GoFundMe.com under the name “Fundraiser for Captain Tyson Houston.”
