Straight from the Comedy Works in Denver, Troy Walker and Chris Voth will be in Grand Lake for one night only Saturday, Dec. 30 for Comedy Night in the House. For a memorable New Year’s weekend, come laugh with friends and family at the Historic Grand Lake Community House. There will be showings at 5:30 and 8 p.m.
First on the stage will be Troy Walker. He has quickly become one of Denver’s most sought-after comedians as the current writer for Jimmy Kimmel. He is a regular at Comedy Works and has won the Comedy Works “New Faces” contest twice.
After making his network TV debut on “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” Walker has steadily racked up credits, including VICE’s “Flophouse” and Fusion TV’s “Trump vs. Bernie,” where he played the role of Don Lemon. He recently appeared on Comedy Central’s “Corporate” and Fuse’s “Uproarious.”
He also just featured in a PetSmart commercial, directed by Christopher Guest and starring Jane Lynch. With Walker’s storytelling abilities and commanding presence onstage, it should come as no surprise that he’s also a licensed attorney. He graduated from University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law.
Second up will be Chis Voth. He has been a regular at Comedy Works for 20 years. His performances include “Last Comic Standing,” “Comics Unleashed,” and “The Late Late Show.” He just finished working as Ron White’s exclusive opener for his “Last Call” tour, doing over 200 shows at theaters across the country.
Voth’s first nationally released comedy album, “Things To Do In Denver When You’re Dead Tired,” was released by Bad Password Records in April 2023. In addition, he is an award-winning filmmaker who wrote, directed and starred in “Camino Unreal,” which has been featured at several film festivals in 2023. Beyond comedy, he teaches high school full time in Denver. He has a master’s in English and a doctorate in education, so expect smart, clever, fast-paced humor.
