Keystone Resort’s River Run Gondola will begin spinning for summer operations on Friday, June 7, while Breckenridge Ski Resort’s BreckConnect Gondola will open for daily summer operations a week later, on Friday, June 14. More details on what each resort will have open and when are to come, Vail Resorts spokesperson Loryn Roberson said by email on Wednesday.
Roberson added that Breckenridge hopes to have the majority of its “Epic Discovery” summertime activities at the resort’s Basecamp and Alpine Camp ready for guests come June 14. Roberson also said that due to the amount of snowpack at Breckenridge, hiking and mountain biking will not be available by mid-June, though Vail Resorts hopes to have the resort’s trails ready by early July.
Over at Keystone, Roberson said the resort each summer traditionally offers a variety of “authentic” Rocky Mountain experiences, such as downhill mountain biking, golfing (which opens at The River Course on Friday), summer snow tubing, hiking, free family programs, lake activities and a variety of base-area activities at the Keystone Play Park, such as a climbing wall, gem panning and a bungee trampoline.
