Marijuana and community health the topic of Summit Daily’s next What’s Brewing

A recent study linked highly potent weed with psychosis. This comes as more states are moving to legalize marijuana for both medical and recreational purposes.

The Summit Daily News invites you to attend a panel discussion on the public health impacts of marijuana at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 24 at the Summit County Community and Senior Center in Frisco.

Summit Daily News editor Ben Trollinger will moderate the event, which will feature a panel of experts discussing the local impacts of marijuana legalization.

Panelists include Sheriff Jaime FitzSimons; Amy Wineland, the director of Summit County Public Health; Mary Skowron, the director of emergency services at St. Anthony’s Summit Medical Center; Elisabeth Edgar-Lowe, the mental and physical health coordinator for Summit School District; Jared Torsney, marijuana training specialist for Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training; and Adam Weiss, the owner of Breckenridge Organic Therapy.

During the last 30 minutes of the event, audience members are encouraged to ask questions.
