On Oct. 26, the Middle Park High School football team went on the road to Clear Creek and came home with a victory, improving their season record to 4-5.
The Panthers relied heavily on their rushing attack due to wet and foggy conditions and were able to post a season high of 319 yards on the ground with a 6.3 yards per carry average. Middle Park was led by their offensive line consisting of Isaac Corcorran, Kaden Ackerman, Bryce Johnson, DJ Kohlwey, Jacob Trail and Eli Broady.
Lucas Conger ran for 214 yards and three touchdowns on 33 carries. Tanner Schnurr, Garrett Gillest, Jacob Trail and Jackson Salyards combined for another 105 yards on the ground.
The Middle Park defense posted their second shutout of the year while holding a potent Clear Creek offense to less than 100 total yards, The Panther defense was led by seniors Schnurr, Broady, Gillest (one interception) and Kayden Ackerman (two sacks).
The Panther special teams were solid all night and were spearheaded by the kicking of Ely Kaplanis with coverage by Ethan Barr and Sal Stokeld.
