Judy Anderson
Oct. 12, 1943 – April 21, 2019
Judy had lifelong ties to Summit County — spending her summers at her family cabin on Bill’s Ranch. Her wonderful childhood memories led to a passion for Bill’s Ranch and Summit County. She freely shared this love with Ranch residents and guests as she collected, over her lifetime, stories and events that made Bill’s Ranch a unique place in Summit County. Her love for Summit County translated into chairmanships and memberships into many projects for the betterment of life in Summit County that included Summit Wildfire Council, Frisco Historical Park and Continental Divide Land Trust just to name a few. In March 2015, Judy received the Senior Citizen of the Year Award which paid tribute to all her accomplishments.
Judy enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, skiing, biking and spending time with family and friends. She was always an active member of her community when living in Denver’s Washington Park neighborhood and in retirement in Frisco’s Bill’s Ranch. Her involvement in the League of Women Voters, Parent Teacher Associations, community and art-oriented associations kept her active and busy throughout her life. She passed her appreciation of activism, love of art, and community to her children and grandchildren. Judy was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.
Judy passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday with the love of her daughters Kristie Buckley and Lisa Anderson; grandson’s Oliver Buckley and Harrison Cleveland and sons-in-law Doug Buckley and Scott Cleveland. She is also survived by her siblings, Joyce Wilber and Steve DeSellem, one niece, five nephews and many other family members.
Donations may be made in her memory to support Alzheimer’s research at Alz.org.
