Rocky Mountain Conservancy is offering a workshop for anyone
who’s ever wanted to photograph the night sky but doesn’t know the techniques
to do it.
The class, Night Sky Landscape Photography, will be Aug. 23-25.
According to its organizers, it will introduce intermediate
level photographers to techniques and camera settings that will help them photograph
the Milky Way, the moon, the stars and other astronomical features using DSL
cameras and standard lenses.
The class will also offer information about how to plan for and
edit the images, as it will be led by Stan Honda, a photographer who has years
of photography experience across the United States.
For the past few years, he has been working on night sky
landscapes, and has been an artist-in-residence for five national parks,
including Rocky Mountain National Park.
His work has contributed to the Dark Sky Park designation of Chaco Culture National Historic Park and Flagstaff Area National Monument. The workshop is $270 for adult members and $300 for non-members online.
