FRISCO — A rockslide has closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 at Fall River Road, one mile west of Idaho Springs, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. There is no estimated time for the road to reopen, but the closure is expected to last late into the afternoon, according to CDOT.
U.S. Highway 285 to Fairplay and then Colorado Highway 9 north toward Breckenridge is the suggested alternate route to get to or from Summit County during the closure.
The eastbound lanes of I-70 are scheduled to close at about noon Friday from Idaho Springs to Frisco, according to Colorado State Patrol. That closure is for rockfall mitigation.
The interstate also was closed because of a rockslide Tuesday in the same area.
