Silverthorne gives residents free sandbags to help control runoff

Silverthorne’s public works department is offering town residents free sandbags to help control runoff.

Anticipating above average runoff this month, Silverthorne is again offering residents free sandbags from the town’s public works department. Locally, runoff typically peaks in June.

The sandbags can be picked up anytime from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at 264 Brian Ave.

Additionally, sand to fill the bags can be found at the Hamilton Creek mailboxes and at the public works department’s Cottonwood Shop, between the shop and the Joint Sewer Authority, 26250 Colorado Highway 9, north of downtown Silverthorne.
